I get so confused whenever I must get on the Internet. I am not the greatest when it comes to technology. But, I noticed my carpets. I live in Seattle. So, I wondered, are Seattle carpet cleaning businesses good? I suppose I am about to find out.
Immediately, I find eight businesses. Since, this is the first time I will use this service, I need to call and ask questions. Such as: How long have you been in business? Do you have references and can I call them? What types of equipment do you use? Is it hot water that is used or actual steam?
I call one place. The receptionist seemed friendly. How long have you all been doing this? What are some of the prices you charge? What chemicals do you use? Will my pets be harmed? Will the carpet be wet a long time? Do you use steam? Do you use hot water? What if my carpet is not color fast?
She was not able to answer all my questions to my satisfaction. Next call. This one seemed friendly also. They are running a special. I can get three rooms done for a certain price. I only want two rooms done. They explain they can also do upholstery. I do need to get my couch cleaned. So, that is a good idea.
I decide I want to meet the managers of these companies. The next day, I make my rounds to five different places. One business I did not even go in. The grounds were unorganized and did not seem to be clean. How was I going to let them clean my carpets? One place had a very hateful staff. Obviously, they did not need my money.
Also, you do not have to use the first company you come upon. Take time to question other customers. Ask for former customers as references. See if letters have been sent praising their work. Never be afraid to get answers. You are entitled. If you are not comfortable, move on. You should never feel forced to use the services of any business. It is your choice.
A good business is not ashamed to let you see their former work. They will give you answers and will be pleased you are so thorough. Stick to your guns. Do not be shy.
