However, sometimes you need to use a wrench or pliers to take it out.
Though the head is joined with its stem with the help of threads but the chances are that the O ring has worn out and need replacement. Thus, we must change the worn one with a new washer.
After you have replaced the washer, wrap a Teflon tape over the stem of the shower head. This is done in order to seal the connection.
However, there is also a possibility that the pipe holding the shower head has grown older and the threads would require the extra round of Teflon tape.
Next,ensure that you fix the shower head with hand and do not tighten it too hard. If the shower head is overtightened there are possibilities that the newly fixed washer may also cave in.
To make sure that the leakage has been successfully fixed, we should put on the shower and watch carefully for any fissures. If it still persists the help from some professional may be taken.
